Reading Your Wedge Bounce and Grind

December 2, 2025·6 min read

Bounce angle determines how the leading edge of your wedge interacts with the turf. Too much bounce on firm turf leads to thin contact; too little on soft turf leads to chunked shots.

Grind refines that further, removing material from specific parts of the sole so the club can be opened up for flop shots or kept square for standard full swings.

During a wedge fitting we evaluate your typical turf conditions and attack angle to recommend the bounce and grind combination that matches how you actually play.
